WE ARE IN NEED OF VETERINARY ADVISORS. Please click this link for information. My name
is Dennis Fallon. My love of turtles, tortoises and reptiles began at an early age. At the age of nine, I won first
place in a turtle race sponsored by a local radio station, by 12, I was collecting lizards, snakes, turtles, and tortoises
from all over the world. (It was fairly easy to do in those days!)
As I
grew up, gradually my interest focused predominately on box turtles and tortoises, both of which are land dwellers.
I have researched the habitat and diet requirements for all the many sub-species which I have acquired and cared for over
the years. I have owned hundreds of turtles over the past forty-plus years.
Many
people enjoy a fondness for turtles. It is my hope to supply as much information for their proper care to as many people as
I can. My motive is not money or profit of any kind, but rather my love of this silent, much misunderstood species.
If I can help more people to give more turtles a better quality of life, than I am successful!
By implementling Turtle Rescue Of Florida Inc. I have been able to counsel numerous turtle owners
to better care for their pets. I have also accepted every turtle and tortoise that any owner no longer wished to
care for. Sadly, there have been many who were malnourished, lacked adequate sunshine or diet supplementation. Consequently,
they are permanently disfigured or physically stunted. I give these turtles extra-special care to nurture them back to as
close to optimal health as they are capable. The space, money and time I have dedicated to this cause is considerable.
Our local zoo refers "turtle callers" to me!
I gratefully accept
all donations which are used to feed, house and provide optimum, good quality supplements and supplies for these wonderful
creatures. If you are so inclined, there is a "donate" button located below on this page. (Thank you!) Optionally,
my wife, Donna paints coconuts which can be mailed as postcards anywhere in the U.S. and Canada (see www.coconutpostcard.net). Proceeds from her sales go to the turtles as well.
With much of the natural
habitats for our native species disappearing with urban expansion, I feel it is especially important to educate others. This
website and my advice is in no way intended to substitute or replace licensed veterinary care by a reptile specialist.
Best wishes for optimal health for you and your pets!
